The problem was identified as a network configuration problem caused by a change implemented afterhours yesterday. Network configuration changes to an outside port, put in place last night, exposed an unexpected issue that caused outside connections to be incorrectly routed to the wrong VLAN. The problem was quickly identified this morning and resolved by 7.35am after which all participants established connectivity ahead of the market opening. BATS Europe is reviewing both its change and QA procedures to ensure that future changes do not cause any recurrence.
